...The intention of this project is to do this without intrusion in privacy: You don't need to track people-owned devices if you just want to count them. Therefore, Paxcounter does not persistently store MAC addresses and does no kind of fingerprinting the scanned devices. Data can either be stored on a local SD-card, transferred to the cloud using LoRaWAN network or MQTT over TCP/IP, or transmitted to localhost using serial (SPI) interface. Application for ESP32 / ESP32S3 with OV2640 / OV5640 camera to record JPEGs to SD card as AVI files and playback to the browser as an MJPEG stream. The AVI format allows recordings to replay at the correct frame rate on media players. If a microphone is installed then a WAV file is also created and stored in the AVI file. The ESP32 cannot support all of the features as it will run out of heap space.
