    This crate is a general purpose library for common types found when working with the HTTP protocol. You’ll find Request and Response types for working as either a client or a server as well as all of their components. Notably you’ll find Uri for what a Request is requesting, a Method for how it’s being requested, a StatusCode for what sort of response came back, a Version for how this was communicated, and HeaderName/HeaderValue definitions to get grouped in a HeaderMap to work with request/response headers. You will notably not find an implementation of sending requests or spinning up a server in this crate. It’s intended that this crate is the “standard library” for HTTP clients and servers without dictating any particular implementation. Note that this crate is still early on in its lifecycle so the support libraries that integrate with the http crate are a work in progress! Stay tuned and we’ll be sure to highlight crates here in the future.

    Ky targets modern browsers and Deno. For older browsers, you will need to transpile and use a fetch polyfill and globalThis polyfill. For Node.js, check out Got. For isomorphic needs (like SSR), check out ky-universal. It's just a tiny file with no dependencies. Internally, the standard methods (GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, HEAD and DELETE) are uppercased in order to avoid server errors due to case sensitivity. Search parameters to include in the request URL. Setting this will override all existing search parameters in the input URL. After prefixUrl and input are joined, the result is resolved against the base URL of the page (if any). The hook can return a Request to replace the outgoing request, or return a Response to completely avoid making an HTTP request. This can be used to mock a request, check an internal cache, etc. An important consideration when returning a request or response from this hook is that any remaining beforeRequest hooks will be skipped.

    Promxy is a prometheus proxy that makes many shards of prometheus appear as a single API endpoint to the user. This significantly simplifies operations and use of prometheus at scale (when you have more than one prometheus host). Promxy delivers this unified access endpoint without requiring any sidecars, custom-builds, or other changes to your prometheus infrastructure. Prometheus itself provides no real HA/clustering support. As such the best-practice is to run multiple (e.g N) hosts with the same config. Similarly prometheus has no real built-in query federation, which means that you end up with N sources in grafana which is (1) confusing to grafana users and (2) has no support for aggregation across the sources. Promxy enables an HA prometheus setup by "merging" the data from the duplicate hosts (so if there is a gap in one, promxy will fill with the other). In addition Promxy provides a single datasource for all promql queries.

Tesla is built around the concept of composable middlewares. This is very similar to how Plug Router works. All HTTP functions, such as Tesla.get/3 and Tesla.post/4, can take a dynamic client as the first argument. This allows using convenient syntax for modifying the behavior in runtime. Tesla supports multiple HTTP adapter that do the actual HTTP request processing. Each piece of the stream will be encoded as JSON and sent as a new line (conforming to JSON stream format).     Provides powerful methods to fetch HTTP resources synchronously or asynchronously. The HttpClient component is a low-level HTTP client with support for both PHP stream wrappers and cURL. It provides utilities to consume APIs and supports synchronous and asynchronous operations. The HTTP client contains many options you might need to take full control of the way the request is performed, including DNS pre-resolution, SSL parameters, public key pinning, etc. They can be defined globally in the configuration (to apply it to all requests) and to each request (which overrides any global configuration). It's common that some of the HTTP client options depend on the URL of the request (e.g. you must set some headers when making requests to GitHub API but not for other hosts). If that's your case, the component provides scoped clients (using ScopingHttpClient) to autoconfigure the HTTP client based on the requested URL.

In this blog post, I'd like to introduce you to two packages that we recently released. The first is laravel-webhook-server, which allows you to send webhook requests. The second one is laravel-webhook-client, which makes it easy to receive those webhook request. Webhooks are very useful when a system wants to be notified as soon as something happens in another system. Let's make that a bit less abstract and take a look at a real-world example. laravel-webhook-server allows you to configure and send webhooks in a Laravel app easily. So you'll install this into the app that wants to notify other apps that something has happened. The package has support for signing calls, retrying calls, and backoff strategies.

    A small Arduino library for GSM modules that just works. This library is easy to integrate with lots of sketches that use Ethernet or WiFi. PubSubClient (MQTT), Blynk, HTTP Client, and File Download examples are provided. Arduino GSM library uses 15868 bytes (49%) of Flash and 1113 bytes (54%) of RAM in a similar scenario. TinyGSM also pulls data gently from the modem (whenever possible), so it can operate on very little RAM. Now, you have more space for your experiments. TCP (HTTP, MQTT, Blynk, ...) All modules support TCP connections. Most modules support multiple simultaneous connections. TCP and SSL connections can usually be mixed up to the total number of possible connections. Many GSM modems, WiFi, and radio modules can be controlled by sending AT commands over Serial. TinyGSM knows which commands to send, and how to handle AT responses, and wraps that into the standard Arduino Client interface.
