Musket - short read error corrector
a parallel short-read error corrector for Illumina sequencing
Musket is an efficient multistage k-mer based corrector for Illumina short read data. This corrector employs the k-mer spectrum approach and introduces three correction techniques in a multistage workflow. Our performance evaluation results, in terms of correction quality and de novo genome assembly measures, reveal that Musket is consistently one of the top performing substitution-error-based correctors. In addition, Musket is multi-threaded using a master-slave model and demonstrates superior parallel scalability compared to all other evaluated correctors as well as a highly competitive overall execution time. -

While there are other prime number generators that can still beat this one in speed, no other ones that I am aware of allow the level of adjustment of sieve size that this one does. If you are running 64-bit Windows, make sure to download the 64-bit executable as it is faster than the 32-bit executable. -

This can be implemented in the public version of GALPROP with the update provided here. Instructions: replace the four files propel.cc, propel_diagnostics, Galdef.cc and Galdef.h and rebuild the executable. Add solution_method and solution_convergence to the galdef parameter file. Project CAPLET is a capacitance extraction toolkit that extract capacitance at field-solver accuracy. CAPLET can directly handle GDS2 layout files into capacitance matrices in both GUI and command line interfaces. The internal extraction algorithm is specialized for VLSI interconnect structures but not exclusively, as long as the structure is of Manhattan geometry and embedded in a uniform dielectric material. -

...I am a bit embarrassed to be posting this here, because it's such a rudimentary program, but I couldn't find any other ready-made program that would track an object in real-time from webcam, other than an $80 special-purpose program used in the original (torsion balance) experiment we were replicating. I released TrackXY to reduce barriers to entry to science. Planned features include versions for each platform, a GUI, comprehensive data management, and data analysis tools. To analyze motion in /recorded/ video (not real-time), you may prefer something like PhysMo, also a SourceForge project. -

The Constrained Manipulation Planning Suite (CoMPS) consists of three openrave plugins and associated data files. The planning and inverse kinematics algorithms in this suite are designed for articulated robots like robotic arms and humanoids. CoMPS is implemented in C++ and compiles in linux only.
