The benchmarks that are included comprise ZDT, DTLZ, WFG, and the knapsack problem. The goal of Opt4J is to simplify the evolutionary optimization of user-defined problems as well as the implementation of arbitrary meta-heuristic optimization algorithms. This project was the result of working on systems constrained to versions of Java < 1.5 and including a great deal of code dealing with object persistence. This project was essentially a proof-of-concept to determine whether or not I could create, essentially, an alternative to JPA that did not rely on annotations.
