Ruby toolkit for the GitHub API
API wrappers should reflect the idioms of the language in which they were written. Octokit.rb wraps the GitHub API in a flat API client that follows Ruby conventions and requires little knowledge of REST. Most methods have positional arguments for required input and an options hash for optional parameters, headers, or other options. While most methods return a Resource object or a Boolean, sometimes you may need access to the raw HTTP response headers. Access tokens can be revoked, removing access for only that token without having to change your password everywhere. Access tokens have access scopes that allow for more granular access to API resources. For instance, you can grant a third party access to your gists but not your private repositories. Two-Factor Authentication brings added security to the account by requiring more information to login. -

Using Znap to manage your plugins can be as simple as putting this in your .zshrc file. Note that the above example does not include any call to complist, compinit, or bashcompinit in the .zshrc file. That is because Znap will run these for you as needed. Znap compiles your scripts and functions in the background. This way, your shell will start up even faster next time! Znap automatically regenerates your comp dump file whenever you install or update a repo or change your .zshrc file. When using git 2.31.0 or newer, Znap automatically enables git maintenance in each repo that it manages. A bash script to watch a file or folder and commit changes to a git repo. Some programs auto-write their config files, without waiting for you to click an 'Apply' button; or even if there is such a button, most programs offer you no way of going back to an earlier version of your settings. If you commit your config file(s) to a git repo, you can track changes and go back to older versions. This script makes it convenient, to have all changes recorded automatically. If you use an editor that does not have built-in git support (or maybe if you don't like the git support it has), you can use gitwatch to automatically commit your files when you save them, or combine it with the editor's auto-save feature to fully automatically and regularly track your changes. If you have any other uses, or can think of ones, please let us know, and we can add them to this list! gitwatch can be installed from source by simply cloning the repository and putting the shell script into your $PATH. -

React lets you use whatever style of data management you want, including mutation. However, if you can use immutable data in performance-critical parts of your application it's easy to implement a fast shouldComponentUpdate() method to significantly speed up your app. Dealing with immutable data in JavaScript is more difficult than in languages designed for it, like Clojure. However, we've provided a simple immutability helper, update(), that makes dealing with this type of data much easier, without fundamentally changing how your data is represented. You can also take a look at Facebook's Immutable.js and React’s Using Immutable Data Structures section for more detail on Immutable.js. You have no way of determining which data has changed since the previous copy has been overwritten. Instead, you need to create a new copy of myData and change only the parts of it that need to be changed. -

The conventional-changelog repo is managed as a monorepo; it's composed of many npm packages. It's recommended you use the high-level standard-version library, which is a drop-in replacement for npm's version command, handling automated version bumping, tagging, and CHANGELOG generation. Alternatively, if you'd like to move towards completely automating your release process as an output from CI/CD, consider using semantic-release. We specifically limit our support to LTS versions of Node, not because this package won't work on other versions, but because we have a limited amount of time, and supporting LTS offers the greatest return on that investment. It's possible this package will work correctly on newer versions of Node. It may even be possible to use this package on older versions of Node, though that's more unlikely as we'll make every effort to take advantage of features available in the oldest LTS version we support. -

Pure-Python Git implementation
Dulwich is a Python implementation of the Git file formats and protocols, which does not depend on Git itself. All functionality is available in pure Python. Optional C extensions can be built for improved performance. Dulwich takes its name from the area in London where the friendly Mr. and Mrs. Git once attended a cocktail party. Supported Python versions are Python 3.5 and later. Versions of Dulwich prior to 0.20 also supported Python 2.7. Supported platforms include Linux, Mac OS X and Windows. Dulwich comes with both a lower-level API and higher-level plumbing ("porcelain"). By default, Dulwich' setup.py will attempt to build and install the optional C extensions. The reason for this is that they significantly improve the performance since some low-level operations that are executed often are much slower in CPython. -

GitHub will disable password-based authentication on APIs Git Credential Manager for Windows uses to create tokens. As a result, GCM for Windows will no longer be able to create new access tokens for GitHub. Git Credential Manager Core (GCM Core) supports OAuth-based authentication with GitHub and is the replacement for GCM for Windows. The Git Credential Manager for Windows (GCM) provides secure Git credential storage for Windows. It's the successor to the Windows Credential Store for Git (git-credential-winstore), which is no longer maintained. Compared to Git's built-in credential storage for Windows (wincred). -

This project provides a small executable that forwards all arguments to git running inside Bash on Windows/Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL). Use Git installed in Bash on Windows/Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) from Windows and Visual Studio Code (VSCode) The primary reason for this tool is to make the Git plugin in Visual Studio Code (VSCode) work with the git command installed in WSL. For these two to interoperate, this tool translates paths between the Windows (C:\Foo\Bar) and Linux (/mnt/c/Foo/Bar) representations. The install.bat script creates a folder structure similar to the one used by Git For Windows, and creates some useful symbolic links in the wslgit\cmd and wslgit\bin folders. VSCode will find the git executable automatically if the two optional installation steps were taken. -

gitbase, is a SQL database interface to Git repositories. This project is now part of source{d} Community Edition, which provides the simplest way to get started with a single command. It can be used to perform SQL queries about the Git history and about the Universal AST of the code itself. gitbase is being built to work on top of any number of git repositories. gitbase implements the MySQL wire protocol, it can be accessed using any MySQL client or library from any language. The project is currently in alpha stage, meaning it's still lacking performance in a number of cases but we are working hard on getting a performant system able to process thousands of repositories in a single node. Stay tuned! gitbase was born to ease the analysis of git repositories and their source code. Also, making it MySQL compatible, we provide the maximum compatibility between languages and existing tools. -

gitin is a minimalist tool that lets you explore a git repository from the command line. You can search from commits, inspect individual files and changes in the commits. It is an alternative and interactive way to explore the commit history. Also, you can explore your current state by investigating diffs, stage your changes and commit them. Fuzzy search (type / to start a search after running gitin command. Interactive stage and see the diff of files (gitin status then press enter to see diff or space to stage). Commit/amend changes (gitin status then press c to commit or m to amend). Interactive hunk staging (gitin status then press p). Explore branches with useful filter options (e.g. gitin branch press enter to checkout). Convenient UX and minimalist design. See more options by running gitin --help, also you can get help for individual subcommand. Linux and macOS are supported, Windows is not at the moment. -

A .gitignore magician in your command line. Joe generates .gitignore files from the command line for you. After install, make sure to run joe u. This will download all .gitignore files in ~/joe-data/ folder. Download the latest binary from the Releases page. It's the easiest way to get started with joe. Make sure to add the location of the binary to your $PATH. You can also use joe to append to a global .gitignore. These can be helpful when you want to ignore files generated by an IDE, OS, or otherwise. Joe isn't just a generator for .gitignore files. You can use it and its output wherever a SCM is used. -

libgit2 is a portable, pure C implementation of the Git core methods provided as a re-entrant linkable library with a solid API, allowing you to write native speed custom Git applications in any language which supports C bindings. Libgit2 is developed with CMake, and this is be the easiest way to build a binary from the source. The CMake build system provides lots of options to configure the libgit2 build for your particular needs. It’s highly recommended that you build libgit2 as a static library for Xcode projects to simplify distribution significantly. libgit2 is used for powering Git GUI clients, such as gmaster and GitKraken and on Git hosting providers such as GitLab, Azure, GitHub, DevOps, among others. By clicking "merge pull request", we perform the merge. It is licensed under the GPLv2 license, so you can link it in its unmodified state with any type of software without releasing its source code. -

octonode is a library for nodejs to access the github v3 API. You can configure the protocol, hostname and port to use. For example to connect to a GitHub Enterprise instance. Request options can be set by setting defaults on the client. (e.g. Proxies). Authenticate to github in cli mode (desktop application) Ensure that the scopes argument is an object containing the required note property. For two-factor authentication add the One Time Password otp key with its corresponding code to the configuration object. If you would like to work with promises rather than callbacks, you can call the promise based version of any of the api calls by appending Async to the function call. If a function is said to be supporting pagination, then that function can be used in many ways as shown below. Results from the function are arranged in pages. -

Captain - Convert your Git workflow to Docker containers ready for Continuous Delivery. Define your workflow in the captain.yaml and use captain to your Continuous Delivery service to create containers for each commit, test them and push them to your registry only when tests passes. Use captain build to build your Dockerfile(s) of your repository. If your repository has local changes the containers will only be tagged as latest, otherwise the containers will be tagged as latest, COMMIT_ID & BRANCH_NAME. Now your Git commit tree is reproduced in your local docker repository. Use captain test to run your tests. Use captain push to send selected images to the remote repository. From the other side, you can now pull the feature branch you want to test, or create distribution channels (such as 'alpha', 'beta', 'stable') using git tags that are propagated to container tags. Captain will automatically configure itself with sane values without the need for any pre-configuration. -

GRV is a terminal-based interface for viewing Git repositories. It allows refs, commits and diffs to be viewed, searched and filtered. The behavior and style can be customized through configuration. Gitinspector is a statistical analysis tool for git repositories. The default analysis shows general statistics per author, which can be complemented with a timeline analysis that shows the workload and activity of each author. Under normal operation, it filters the results to only show statistics about a number of given extensions and by default only includes source files in the statistical analysis. This tool was originally written to help fetch repository statistics from student projects in the course Object-oriented Programming Project (TDA367/DIT211) at Chalmers University of Technology and Gothenburg University. Shows cumulative work by each author in history. Filters results by an extension (default: java,c,cc,cpp,h,hh,hpp,py,glsl,rb,js, SQL). Can display a statistical timeline analysis. Scans for all filetypes (by extension) found in the repository. Multi-threaded; uses multiple instances of git to speed up analysis when possible. -

This library defines an object oriented representation of the GitHub API. By "object oriented" we mean there are classes that correspond to the domain model of GitHub (such as GHUser and GHRepository), operations that act on them as defined as methods (such as GHUser.follow()), and those object references are used in favor of using string handle (such as GHUser.isMemberOf(GHOrganization) instead of GHUser.isMemberOf(String)) The library supports both github.com and GitHub Enterprise. Most of the GitHub APIs are covered, although there are some corners that are still not yet implemented. The library allows connecting to GitHub via several different authentication mechanisms. This library defines a common convention so that applications using this library will look at a consistent location. In this convention, the library looks at ~/.github property file. The content of the files depends on the way you want this library to authenticate as shown.
