Finally I tried with a NVidea board and I can replicate the issue.

You can workaround it with the -nosmp option when starting advmame.

Good morning,
When I open advancemame and press the tab key, the app crashes with this error code:

X Error of failed request: GLXBadContextTag
Major opcode of failed request: 152 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 5 (X_GLXMakeCurrent)
Serial number of failed request: 615
Current serial number in output stream: 615
Error process exited with status 1.

I use Ubuntu system with Nvidia driver 525
and it happens to me both on Wayland and on Xorg.
Sounds like something related to Nvidia drivers
What can I do to fix it?

Hi Andrea,

thanks for merging it into the github code! Great to see that the changes are useful :-)
I checked the code on github and also compiled and tested it. Looks good.

But I noticed that I've forgotten to add the new initialisation operation to the other qbert drivers (qberta, qbertjp, myqbert, qberttst, sqbert). Find attached an other patch with the changes.
