This is just a very minor issue.

dos2unix contains some calls to strerror where the result is assigned
to a char *. However, according to the strerror specification, the
string returned by strerror should never be changed, so it would be
better to use const char * instead.

The option -i[FLAGS], --info[=FLAGS] FILE ... may help you.

Example:

Convert only files that have DOS line breaks and leave the other files untouched:

dos2unix -ic0 *.txt | xargs -0 dos2unix

1 . Before Converting , Show the current file format Like (unix, Mac, Windows) with encoding
2. if the file is already in unix format and trying to convert again in Unix, Show meassage like file is already in unix. But the tool is keep converting again. Eg convering 300MB Size of UNIX file into again Unix - taking approx 2 mins which is not fine.

podchecker gives this warning for version 6.0: \*\*\* WARNING: =item type mismatch \('definition' vs. 'number'\) at line 240 in file ../nl/man1/dos2unix. similar in man1/dos2unix and es/man1/dos2unix. It can be fixed by escaping the number 7 in the item definition. \- =item B<7bit> \+ =item B<E<7>bit> Michael Schindler
