<div class="markdown_content"><p>Hello,</p> <p>KDE and GNOME have embraced the AppStream proposal for distro- and desktop-agnostic software centers, requiring packages to ship an appdata.xml file, which is to be installed in /usr/share/appdata/ . The file contains a brief description of the package, links to 16:9 screenshots and website and contact info. Regardless, the new software centers present a great opportunity for developers to showcase their applications and of course for the users, to discover said applications.
