This release brings an ability to use arbitrary websites as dictionaries, ability to change dictionary order and deactivate select dictionaries, support for transliterations, Lingvo-like white display style, finding text, text zooming, printing and other new features, bugfixes and enhancements.

Version 0.8 of GoldenDict, a project aimed to create a feature-rich dictionary lookup program, is announced. This release brings Hunspell-based morphologies, indexing arbitrary directories with sounds, dictd dictionary files support, punctuation and whitespace folding, indexing individual words within headwords, global hotkeys, and much more.

Version 0.7 - Introducing Wikipedia support

Version 0.7 of GoldenDict, a project aimed to create a feature-rich dictionary lookup program, is announced. Among new features is Wikipedia, Wiktionary or any other MediaWiki-based site lookups, recursive directory paths for local dictionary files, support for zipped .dsl resources, more persistent groups' content, and other improvements and fixes.

Initial binary and source release, version 0.5

We're happy to announce the availability of the first binary and source release of GoldenDict, a project aimed to create a feature-rich dictionary lookup program. The freshly released version 0.5 demonstrates the bulk of the project without some of the yet unimplemented bells and whistles, which are planned for the stable 1.0 release in the future.

GoldenDict, a project aimed to create a feature-rich dictionary lookup program, announces its existence and the initial availability of its source code, just committed to its Subversion repository. The project is in alpha stage, is already quite usable but not yet feature-complete. Everyone is welcome to look around, build and see the current snapshot, and join the cause.
