The Technical Library Template Interface's long-term goal
making TekLang a reality - is coming closer to completion. We
are now getting started on some file maintenance routines, which
include file copying, testing encrypted and compressed files, and
permissions setting.

In prerelease 5, there will be macros useful in configure.in files,
found in src/teklti.m4. The macros should make checking for
libTekLTI much easier.

In addition, a new set of interfaces, with names starting with
TekFileBZ2, will be included in the new release. They provide the
BZIP2 compression functionality in libTekLTI, and can be omitted
using the --without-bzip2 flag when running the configure script.
There will also be TekCopyFile and TekCopyASCIIFile interfaces
included; they provide the standard for file copying and testing.

For those who want to view the development branch of libTekLTI,
the CVS command to execute is:

`cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@66.24.29.1:/libteklti export -Dtomorrow libteklti'

This project can also use as much help as it can get, to reach
maturity. If you have a library, please help pitch in to this
project. You can do so by adding libTekLTI implementation to
your project or by e-mailing diffs to Kevin McBride, the project
manager, at <kevin@planetsaphire.com>. By adding libteklti
code to your project or to libTekLTI itself, you will help libTekLTI
reach maturity and ultimately, make your code accessible from
TekLang.

Milestones for this project as well as current milestone:

1. Implement TekStd (completed)

2. Implement TekFile interfaces (in progress)

3. Implement Config interfaces

4. Implement Data Compression interfaces

5. Implement Database interfaces

6. Implement Technical Standard Interface Protocol

7. Draft RFC for the Technical Standard Interface Protocol

8. Finalize all documentation

9. Make a final release of libTekLTI-1.0.
