I think the bug it's mostly related to .NET versions - I have 2 laptops both with Windows 11, both working on same 3 external monitor setup + internal occasionally (via Thunderbolt docking station + HDMI).

In one of them I never have any issues, with same monitor setup. In the other one, it's a pain with crashes on some configurations.

I checked https://github.com/zac15987/DisplayProfileManager/issues/2 but it does not have shortcuts, which are hugely important... I 've added an issue, please vouch it ;-)

I tried this again the other day and it works all of a sudden. Maybe Microsoft fixed something in Windows 11 that originally broke it.

Life is made easier again! :D

I have switched using another software https://github.com/zac15987/DisplayProfileManager
It pretty much does the same thing, but it is just recently released and needs some polishing and bug fixes. The dev plans on adding sound device switchimg to it, which is a welcome addition.

Monitor Profile Switcher worked wonderfully for years, so thank you Martin for all the work you did!

I’ve run into an issue on my setup that seems to be related to VRR (Variable Refresh Rate).
Here’s what’s happening:

Living room: 65" LG CX OLED (HDMI) + 49" ultrawide Samsung monitor (DP)
If I enable VRR on the OLED TV, the app crashes when saving or switching profiles.
If I enable VRR on the Samsung ultrawide, everything works fine — profiles save and switch without issue.

Downstairs setup: 43" AORUS 4K 144Hz (DP) + 32" LG 2K 144Hz vertical (DP)
No problems here either, everything works perfectly with VRR enabled.

So the problem only shows up when VRR is turned on for the OLED over HDMI. With VRR off, everything runs smoothly and switching profiles is no issue.

For now, I just leave VRR disabled on the TV and enable it manually if I want it — but honestly, with a 4090 it doesn’t make a huge difference most of the time.

And I’ve got to say — huge thanks to the devs. Love your work, nothing else on the market even comes close!

"Load at Windows startup" option...

Brilliant, works great.
One minor suggestion: add a "Load at Windows startup" option for the Sytem Tray GUI.
Of course, you can accomplish this by manually adding a shortcut to your Startup folder, but some users may not know how to do this.

Tried installing all of them but not working unfortunately!

It's a shame, it was working recently and then just randomly stopped working correctly.
Can't find anything else like it so that sucks.

I had the same/similar issues on Windows 11 with 0.8.0, but now it's working on 2 machines both with Windows 11.

I think it has to do with the .NET runtime versions you have installed (see https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/install/how-to-determine-which-versions-are-installed)

Mine are the "classic" (using https://github.com/EliteLoser/DotNetVersionLister) :

I also have .NET 6 & 10, it might need those instead....

Also do all the Windows updates, it might be the reason...
