of creating libraries and the such, write a scripting
language thats somewhat simple, and can be literally
put in a directory and automatically recognized, this
would allow users and ops to create games, news,
advertisements (/m slots, sts style), etc.

alex@bored.cc

system link

the ability to link teleconferences.

not the gay majorbbs style node-to-node link, but
something like ddial/sts used to do. I think i
remember the rumor being they did it in a somewhat irc
fashion, if not completely. If there was a way to join
an irc server, create a private room, and echo
everything out from that, then as many nodes as
possible could link up. BBS's are damn near completely
dead, chat systems hav to be doing worse simply
because there are hardly ever 2 calls at once to
justify a chatroom. But if a bunch of systems that are
alike are linked up, then someone, somewhere is gonna
be calling. The advantages of a bbs style chat over
irc is simply comfort I guess, that and the users will
have something already in common -- they're logging on
to a bbs rather than an internet app.

further, it might be a good idea to have a non-bbs
related bot in the room, to act as a 3rd party
control. provide a means for users to register their
bbs with the bot on the web, and then they have to
whisper their password to the bot in order for them to
be announced and recognized as a real bbs, not some
schmuck who found a way in..

There are alots of old bbs plugins/game c-sources around, but hacking
them "in" would be alots of work and making the code unreadable.

Any plans ?
