I have to click into the R gui and then go back to Notepad++ and press <f8> again to get the code to finally execute. Is there something in 'settings' I can alter to get it to work properly?</f8></f8>

Specify which version of R to open?

Hi, when I open Notepad++ with the NppToR extension, I can pass a line of code with F8 and the code will be sent to a new R session (if I don't have one open already). This is great. However, when starting a new session, it always opens the latest version of R that has been installed on my computer. This is okay until my IT department automatically pushes out a new version of R when I don't want them to... Is there any way to get into the NppToR settings to specify which version of R to open when NppToR initiates a new R session? I know that I can manually open whatever version of R I want, and then NppToR will send my code to the most recent session, but that's an extra step rather than letting NppToR open the session. Thanks for any suggestions you might have, and thanks again for this great tool!

Silent installation, Windows 10

When installing using the command
I'm a recent refugee from linux (new job, new computer), and over there I'm a huge partisan of the gedit R plugin. npptoR seems to be a really nice drop-in preplacement for me.

I want to customize it a bit though -- in particular I want the keybindings be CTRL+SHIFT+r to run a single line, and CTRL+SHIFT+e to run a selection. I'm on windows 7 (not an admin), and there is no settings menu apparent when I right click on a npptor icon that I pin to the system tray.

Help?

Thanks!

Feature Request: "NppToRStudio"

Hi there,

For many reasons (not including their editor) I find RStudio incredibly useful. At the same time, I want to continue using NPP and NppToR. For the time being, I have returned to manually pasting from NPP to RStudio. Obviously, this is not ideal. If it were possible to make NppToR interface with RStudio window like it does with the "normal" GUI, that would be fantastic. What do you think?

Keep up the good work,

Reverting to 6.8.8 or earlier resolves that issue. I tried a few previous version but none of them resolved the issue of selected text not being passed: it works only sporadically regardless of version I tried (up to 6.8.6).

Passing partial line selection?

Thanks so much for your help. Unfortuneately, that didn't seem to have any obvious effect. Even worse, since installing the latest version of Notepad++, Npptor no longer seems to pass wrapped lines correctly. It sends only the first part of the line to the rgui but the rest of the wrapped line does not get sent.

Passing partial line selection?

Hi Andrew,
Firstly, thank you so much for developing and maintaining this incredibly useful piece of software. I use it evey single day. Very grateful for you had work.
Second, I too am experiencing the problem described by Ric. I'm running Windows 10, but was having the problem earlier with Windows 7 and 8 as well. Earlier versions of npptor didn't seem to have this problem, but now it occurs almost every day.

Restarting npptor fixes the problem for a while, but within 5 - 10 minutes it is back again.

I also tried your suggestion of increasing the value of "Milliseconds to wait before restoring clipboard". This fixes the problem temporarily, but it returns after a few minutes. I tried a number of different values.

In my experience, about 1 in every 4 times I select a part of a line and hit F8, it ends up sending the whole line over to R. Occasionally, it gets stuck and refuses to send a part of the line over at all (or a block to lines) until I restart npptor.

Again, thanks for you work, and hopefully you are able to find a solution to this problem.
