Part of MS Office Professional Edition
OS version: Windows 7 Home Premium 6.1.7601 SP1 Build 7601
Add-In Version: OdfAddInForOfficeSetup-en_4.0.5309
Is this a roundtrip conversion? No
Is the error reproducible (Y/N)? Yes
Degree of occurence (rarely/casually/systematic): Everytime
Severity (Would be Nice/Irritating/No GO): No GO
and severely disruptive to a (actually more than one!) tax repayment claim. :-(
Type of bug (Install/Localisation/Crash/Conversion/Ergonomy/Other): Conversion fails
What was the problem? The file does not open in Excel
Where is the problem (sheet/page/header/footer/etc...)? On file load - other than that I cannot tell.
Step-by-step procedure to generate the error?
1 Right click the file in Windows Explorer>
2 Open with Microsoft Excel
What is the expected Result? That
1 the file will open
2 I shall be able to edit it
3 I shall be able to save it as an ods file

When attempting to open the file the first warning is:

Excel supports only 256 chars in header/footer strings(with formatting). Any characters above 256 will be lost

This is not entirely unexpected and is accepted.
The second message is an error:
The converter failed to open the file

ODS not a valid oasis file

Attach small ods file which will not open in MS Excel 2010 or 2007; on OS platform Windows7 of WindowsXP. Both Office suites already include add-in but we installed odfAddInforOfficeSetup v 4.0.5309. No repeat, only file we have. Error message permanent. Occurs always with this file. Conversion error. Will lose all date (40 hours research if we cannot resolve issue. (sorry, new to this, don't know what roundtrip means!)

Can\'t open file with Excel

Inside a file there is a quite big amount of data (very long table). When I try to open it in Excel it says that unknown error occurred and the file cannot be opened.
I\'m using Excel 2007, Windows XP SP3.

ODS: Validation errors in produced files

The attached spreadsheet lists files which still produce validation errors in the generated IS 29500 output.

XLSX Borders, text alignment and background color lost

Sheets: Detailed Count High Temps and Regionalized High Temps

There are many changed in the pivot table at these sheets:
The cells B6:AY112 were "Alignmnet Center Horrizontally", now they have no alignment.
In the same range the borders are disapeared.
In column AZ the background color is lost.

This was no problem in version r 5293.
