This shoukd be checked by the configure script?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;With an &lt;br /&gt;
apt-get install libpopt-dev the software compiles.&lt;/p&gt;

apart from having a really weird name, that&lt;br /&gt;
non-standard location is not reported anywhere in the&lt;br /&gt;
readme. had to run updatedb and locate to find it. one&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;p&gt;ran 00odi as root, it won't install dictionaries as&lt;br /&gt;
