RFC 4103 replaces RFC 2793. This document describes how to transport text over RTP, which is suitable to use in IP text telephone connections. RFC 4103 is backward compatible with RFC 2793, and gives a more detailed description of the protocol with more examples and clearer stated SDP negotiation procedures that hopefully will give good interoperatibility.

With this new standard document, a new release of RTP text/t140 Library is now available on SourceForge. All references to the old RFC number are updated, some RTP sending details have also been tuned in order to supply a good RFC 4103 reference implementation.

RFC 4103 is available at http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc4103.txt.

First release!

The source code library for RTP payload type for text conversation (RFC2793) has now been released!

Our hope is to receive feedback on design, documentation and sourcecode from all developers using this package. Feedback is needed for us to keep this reference implementation of RFC 2793 stable, robust and bug free.
