I found that for my uses, I needed to have several uShare instances running. Unfortunately the xbox 360 only picked up one of the instances. Fortunately, I've come up with a patch.

Currently, uShare allows a user to specify which http and telnet ports to bind to (-t and -p), as well as a unique name (-n) for a given instance. While this allows more than one uShare instance on the same interface, it is not sufficient for the xbox 360 to recognize both instances.

After some digging around, I realized that both instances had the same UDN, and came up with the attached patch for ushare 1.1a on Linux. In a nutshell, the patch changes the way the UDN is created. The create_udn() function now has a second parameter to specify the 16-bit port passed on the -p switch from the command line. The 16 bit number now forms the last two bytes of the UDN.

I've tried this on my 3 day old XBOX 360, and it works beautifully. Hopefully this will make it into the next release!
