XML_Parse fails when # follows &

Quick and dirty example, compile the XSD schema checker, and have a scheme which uses this somewhere inside it:

<xs:pattern value="(([:A-Z0-9 \.,\(\)\?\-]| \p{Zl})/?)*([:A-Z0-9 \.,\(\)\?\-]| \p{Zl})"/>

This is a valid statement within the XSD, but it simply into an infinite loop when the XSD checker is executed.
