Hi all,

It's been quite sometime since the last post, isn't it? :-)
for who are impatiently waiting for a new yaacs release
I can say that it's almost here (I know we are quite late)
but in the meantime we're glad to provide a fundamental tool
to play with yaacs svn trunk version: tcliaxclient (via custom
deb repository).

As you know tcliaxclient provide to yaacs the ability to
use VoIP technology (iax2 - asterisk). Due to some constraints
we were not able to get our own patches included into tcliaxlcient
official source tree, so we thought that a good way to lower the
bar to get new version of yaacs installed was to provide to
every one who plan to use yaacs on a debian derived version
of linux an easy way to get VoIP up and running.

Since the beginning on a linux platform you need to compile
the code by yourself (for win32 boxes we were so kind to provide
yaacs client executable bundled with all the necessary stuff to
get a voip enabled installation).

All you need to do is add yaacs repository to your
/etc/apt/sources.list and update your deb cache through
"apt-get update" command and than just type:

apt-get install tcliaxclient

Providing deb packages for the entire yaacs project
is something that we are thinking about but my actual
apt-get-fu it's some way too limited right now to get
the task done (i.e. don't hold your breath).

Anyhow that's the url you've to add to your apt configuration:

# debian lenny
deb http://www.opinioni.net/deb/debian lenny main

# ubuntu 8.10
deb http://www.opinioni.net/deb/ubuntu intrepid main

# ubuntu 9.04
deb http://www.opinioni.net/deb/debian jaunty main

For all the above distro both i386 and amd64 archs are
supported.

YaaCs 2.1.1 released !

That's mainly a bug fix release. There's no need to alter yaacs db schema if you're upgrading from a 2.1 version. As you will see from the Change log an upgrade is strongly recommended :)

This is a minor release mainly focused on performance and usability improvements,
of course it contains a lot of bugfixes.
From now on wel'l provide windows executable
for the joy of Windows user.

A bugfix-only release: yaacs 2.0.1

YaaCs 2.0.1 it's a bugfix-only release as you will see from the following changelog:

* NEW: yacati warns users about invalid date on call-back settings before they try to save it;

* FIX: fixed a bug on closing "send IM" window;

* FIX: fixed bug #1552018; tclami used the same var to store the socket but if you connect more than once all was breaking up;

* FIX: fill in the table all in one shot to avoid some strange bug (e.g. #1552538);

* FIX: fixed bug #1552586 (max retry and probabilistc sampling). Both the "count" problem and "return to life" problem. The latter is related to every implemented sampling techniques;

* FIX: update it i18n;

Hi there,
yaacs-2.0RC1 has been released!

We're going to release 2.0 very soon.
This is the first release coming out after
the re-writing work we started a long time
ago.

Please test it and report any bug.

Thanks to mirko who worked hard on it... a very
good work!

You can browse a nightly build version of the
documentation to be always in-sync with latest
changes.

Our release manager is working on the 2.0-rc1
version that should coming out very soon
(maybe today...)

We are quite ready to deliver the first release candidate of yaacs version 2.0, so be patient for another few days and we'll provide you know a brand new bunch of yaacs features:

- VoIP support
- Automatic outcomes classifcation
- Re-written from scratch
- New database design
- I18n support (en/it)
- New monitoring tools
- Instant messaging (IM)
- Recruit interviewers through sms/phone/email
- Improve replicates algorithm
- and many many more....

Shortly after the end 2.0 release cycle, we wanna
move on fast toward 2.1 version that will include more delicious stuff:

- improve monitoring strategy
- improve mod_survey integration
- add access panel functionality
- sip support
- and many more....
