I have been using Asus routers for years after ditching Linksys once they got bought up by Cisco. Started out with DD-WRT and then Tomato; but I have found Merlin's firmware to be the most flexible, feature-rich, and stable. He has actually responded to me directly on the message boards, which was also awesome.
It is not easy for novices; but the Asus is awesome in that you can never truly "brick", since I have "killed" mine several times early on. You can always recover an Asus router and Merlin's firmware just makes it that much more awesome. Thank you for all your heard work and you need to get a Patreon or something going.

Love this firmware, but where's your Privacy Policy? Couldn't find one on your site. What kind of information do you collect from people using this firmware.

I wish more router firmware had the features that Merlin offers for my ASUS. As an IT guy I took the time to set up a pfSense firewall at home and loved it. I then upgraded my primary router to the Merlin firmware and frankly am considering shelving my pfSense set up primarily because the features in Merlin overlap with what I'm using pfSense for. Why pay the extra $$$ to have a firewall server up all the time if what I need is in Merlin. A+ Thank you developers!

Great to see support for the my router, the firmware adds some nice extra features that the Asus firmware did not have, the project also appears to be more active in releasing new versions when compared to Asus. Keep up the good work!!!

Great stock firmware alternative. I run this on my RT-AC5300 and I run Xwrt-Vortex on my Netgear R7000. Both builds are fast and stable for me. Highly recommended!
