  • Writes images from my Win7 system onto a USB/SD card. Worked great to install Linux to my Raspberry Pi.
  • Abandoned. Doesn't work at all until bug #47 is fixed, which has been known about for years.

Not quite abandoned, but if people don't like that I am focusing my time on a job that pays, well, donate.
  • This is just what I was looking for. After cloning my RPi system disk, I boot off it and used raspi-config to expand to expand to provide access to the larger (32Gb) SD.
  • Thank!!
  • the best
  • This Win32 Disk Imager is a great tool to write .img files into SD Card, unfortunately, I have my Paragon Linux EXTFS installed, then this Win32DiskImager will not launch no matter how you run it for n-times. I hope developer can fix this bugs ASAP. Thank you.
  • Great tool! I use Win32 Disk Imager often to image SD cards for dev boards and my Raspberry Pi. It is simple to use and runs quickly. I think it will only improve as features are added!
  • I often use it to create images of Raspberry Pi. I made a Japanese pm file with gratitude. www.dropbox.com/sh/99pxesevluzu7j2/AABlCT1WVJJqWjCFT6GCu-ZGa?dl=0
  • Doesn't work for me. It makes the USB unserviceable. It format the drive, as supposed, but it also removes the partition. I had to recreate the partition table and use unetbootin.

This utility was not made to format USB drives. It writes raw images to the entire device (boot sector, partition table, etc). Images that contain filesystems that are not supported by Windows will appear to be faulty to Windows.
  • Excellent Software.
  • NOT BRICKED: your USB is was and never will be bricked unless youre too stupid to read... you need to use dd to write another file table after using the drive as a boot device. YOURE A F***ING IDIOT LERN2GOOGLE YOU MORON

In all of my testing, the only USB drive that failed was faulty from the manufacturer, and in NO WAY related to Win32DiskImager (they actually use this to test their devices, according to their support person that RMA'd my device - an early USB3 flash drive).
  • Cannot get win32 to write to sd card. No errors simulates as if writing but in the end sd card is blank. Have tried on 3 separate computers and always the same. Tried in Safe Mode no difference. Use to work fine. Windows 10 Pro 64bit
  • The reference for img flashing on Windows. Works well! But, on a multi-partition USB stick/SD card, it's unclear if it is flashing on the whole device or not.

It works at the volume level, so reads/writes to the entire device. You can select from multiple partitions on one volume, it will read/write to the entire device, overwriting partitions and all existing data.
  • Theres is a portable version? Thank you.
  • Version 1.0.0 DOES work with Win 10. Other users mostly likely got a bad download, bad install, or downloaded from elsewhere. See attached images for proof. i [dot] imgur [dot] com/uEWoQkS.jpg
  • Confirm that 1.0.0 version doesn't work at Windows 10, 0.9.5 runs fine.

  • Works fine. Thank you.
  • works as advertised, watch out for the sneaky-a** crapware installer near the end of the installer setup! Win 10 Pro VM under unRAID 6.3

I have verified and reverified that the installer I uploaded to Sourceforge is 100% malware/adware free. If you are seeing this, it is because you downloaded the installer from a 3rd party that has repackaged the application. Verify with the checksums posted on this site.
  • Version 0.9.5 works fine in windows 10. Version 1.0.0 has malware attached to it.

I would really like to know what malware was seen, as I build the images and push them to SF, verifying the checksums every few months. The only way malware can get attached is either Sourceforge is changing the files I upload (doubtful), or you are downloading it from a 3rd party location (ex: downloads.com).
  • Can you add support for Windows XP in the latest version Please Thank you
  • Downloaded this specifically to install an ARM OS onto a micro SD card. Image mounted perfectly. No problems on boot.
  • Works great every time. Got to be careful and can be easy to mess things up if you are not.
  • Wrote Linux Mint Cinnamon to USB; worked like a charm. :)
  • File review Win32DiskImager-0.9.5-install.exe I tried installing on 2 HP laptops running Windows 10 and a desktop Running Windows 10. All three computers failed to install, all3 said "Unable to execute file: c:Program Files (x86)\ImageWriter\Win32DiskImager.exe", "CreateProcess failed;code 740. The requested operation requires elevation." One does not even have a virus protection program.
