Simulation on energy management of an uneven clustered EH-WSNs by cooperative q-learning Power management in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is very important due to the limited energy of batteries. Sensor nodes with harvesters can extract energy from environmental sources as supplemental energy to break this limitation. In a clustered solar-powered sensor network where nodes in the network are grouped into clusters, data collected by cluster members are sent to their cluster head and finally transmitted to the base station. ...

Wireless Sensor Networks framework for PtolemyII/VisualSense

This project contains an infrastructure for visual simulation of wireless sensor networks, which allows evaluate the energy consumption of the network when running reactive applications whose load is described by stochastic models. Besides of the performance evaluation of different network configurations, it also provides resources for evaluating dynamic network management strategies. Through experiments, the effectiveness of the framework is demonstrated to evaluate network performance considering more realistic load models as well as to evaluate strategies for load balancing.

    JSensor

high performance computing, Wireless Sensors Networks Simulators

How can we analyze the water quality of a river? How can we monitor streets, cities, provinces of a country? How can we predict and prevent problems coming from earthquakes, snowstorms, fire spreads and all kinds of natural disasters? How can we test some new drugs without using animals? These and many other problems are initially solved by using simulators. It is extremely expensive, and sometimes dangerous, to test initial ideas in a real environment. We must use simulators to achieve...

    steam-sim

An accurate, scalable, and energy-aware simulator for WSNs

STEAM-Sim establishes a hardware/software/network co-simulation of wireless sensor networks. Original C code is used in simulation. The code is natively executed by the cpu where the simulation is run. The time annotation engine annotates the C source code used for simulation with the timing information as if the code is run on a microcontroller. The annotation process is fully automated. Hardware models are developed using the PAWiS framework and reflect the timing, functionality, and energy-consumption of real-world hardware such as a CC2420 radio transceiver. ...

    DogoIDS

    DogoIDS

Active-probing-based network IDS for wireless networks

DogoIDS is an open-source active-probing-based network intrusion detection system (AP-NIDS) for wireless multihop networks (MANETs, Wireless Mesh Networks, Sensor Networks, etc). At this stage, DogoIDS only support the IEEE 802.11s standard for Wireless Mesh Networks. DogoIDS is now under construction in a very early stage and mainly for research purposes. However, we aim to release a stable version ready for production soon. *** IMPORTANT *** We uploaded the very first experimental implementation of DogoIDS (still alpha), so expect to find bugs. ...

    Enhanced Stable Election Protocol- SEP-E

An enhanced stable election protocol for wireless sensor network

While wireless sensor networks are increasingly equipped to handle more complex functions, in-network processing may require these battery powered sensors to judiciously use their constrained energy to prolong the effective network life time especially in a heterogeneous settings. Clustered techniques have since been employed to optimize energy consumption in this energy constrained wireless sensor networks.

    DEC routing protocol for WSN

A Deterministic Energy-efficient Clustering protocol for WSN

...We propose a deterministic energy-efficient clustering protocol that is dynamic, distributive, self-organizing and more energy efficient than the existing protocols. It utilizes a simplified approach which minimizes computational overhead-cost to self-organize the sensor network. Our simulation result shows a better performance with respect to energy consumption, which is reflected in the network lifetime in both homogeneous and heterogeneous settings when compared with the existing protocols. It is worthy of note that our approach approximates an ideal solution for balanced energy consumption in hierarchical wireless sensor networks.

    comb-needle hotspot evaluation

    comb-needle hotspot evaluation

opnet project for WSN comb-needle model

In Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs), comb-needle(CN) model has been used for information discovery. CN model uses the push-pull strategy, when the sensor detects specific events, it will periodically push (broadcast) the information throughout the network, when user want to get the information, then a pull-based information query will be exploited.
