An open source Git extension for versioning large files. Git Large File Storage (LFS) replaces large files such as audio samples, videos, datasets, and graphics with text pointers inside Git, while storing the file contents on a remote server like GitHub.com or GitHub Enterprise. Download and install the Git command line extension. Once downloaded and installed, set up Git LFS for your user account. In each Git repository where you want to use Git LFS, select the file types you'd like Git LFS to manage (or directly edit your .gitattributes). You can configure additional file extensions at any time. Host more in your Git repositories. External file storage makes it easy to keep your repository at a manageable size. Download less data. This means faster cloning and fetching from repositories that deal with large files. Work like you always do on Git, no need for additional commands, secondary storage systems, or toolsets. -

I never really liked any of the mergetools out there so I made a program that is somewhat easier to use.fac operates much like git add -p . It has a prompt input at the bottom of the screen where the user inputs various commands. The above key-bindings and various behaviors can be altered by creating a .fac.yml file in your home directory. Please refer to the configuration README.md for more information. -

Managing multiple git repositories is easier than ever. I (was) often end up working on many directories and manually pulling updates etc. To make this routine faster, I created a simple tool to handle this job. Although the focus is batch jobs, you can still do de facto micro-management of your git repositories (e.g add/reset, stash, commit etc.) run the gitbatch command from the parent of your git repositories. For start-up options simply gitbatch --help. -

Dolt, it's Git for data
Dolt is a SQL database that you can fork, clone, branch, merge, push and pull just like a git repository. Connect to Dolt just like any MySQL database to run queries or update the data using SQL commands. Use the command line interface to import CSV files, commit your changes, push them to a remote, or merge your teammate's changes. All the commands you know for Git work exactly the same for Dolt. Git versions files, Dolt versions tables. It's like Git and MySQL had a baby. We also built DoltHub, a place to share Dolt databases. We host public data for free. If you want to host your own version of DoltHub, we have DoltLab. If you want us to run a Dolt server for you, we have Hosted Dolt. MySQL comes with a MySQL server called mysqld and a MySQL client called mysql. You're only interested in the client. After following the instructions from MySQL's documentation, make sure you have a copy of the mysql client on your path. -

Talisman is a tool that installs a hook to your repository to ensure that potential secrets or sensitive information do not leave the developer's workstation. It validates the outgoing changeset for things that look suspicious - such as potential SSH keys, authorization tokens, private keys etc. Talisman can also be used as a repository history scanner to detect secrets that have already been checked in, so that you can take an informed decision to safeguard secrets. We recommend installing Talisman as a pre-commit git hook template, as that will cause Talisman to be present, not only in your existing git repositories, but also in any new repository that you 'init' or 'clone'. Installation of Talisman globally does not clobber pre-existing hooks on repositories. If the installation script finds any existing hooks, it will only indicate so on the console. After the installation is successful, Talisman will run checks for obvious secrets automatically before each commit or push. -

With watchtower you can update the running version of your containerized app simply by pushing a new image to the Docker Hub or your own image registry. Watchtower will pull down your new image, gracefully shut down your existing container and restart it with the same options that were used when it was deployed initially. Watchtower is an application that will monitor your running Docker containers and watch for changes to the images that those containers were originally started from. If watchtower detects that an image has changed, it will automatically restart the container using the new image. go-git is a highly extensible git implementation library written in pure Go. It can be used to manipulate git repositories at low level (plumbing) or high level (porcelain), through an idiomatic Go API. It also supports several types of storage, such as in-memory filesystems, or custom implementations, thanks to the Storer interface. It's being actively developed since 2015 and is being used extensively by Keybase, Gitea or Pulumi, and by many other libraries and tools. After the legal issues with the src-d organization, the lack of update for four months and the requirement to make a hard fork, the project is now back to normality. The project is currently actively maintained by individual contributors, including several of the original authors, but also backed by a new company, gitsight, where go-git is a critical component used at scale. go-git aims to be fully compatible with git, all the porcelain operations are implemented to work exactly as git does. -

Both strategies work well and both have drawbacks as well. splitsh helps use both strategies by providing tools that automatically synchronize a monolithic repository to standalone repositories in real-time. splitsh-lite is a sub-project that provides a faster implementation of the git subtree split command, which helps create standalone repositories for one or more sub-directories of a main repository. gitbase, is a SQL database interface to Git repositories. This project is now part of source{d} Community Edition, which provides the simplest way to get started with a single command. It can be used to perform SQL queries about the Git history and about the Universal AST of the code itself. gitbase is being built to work on top of any number of git repositories. gitbase implements the MySQL wire protocol, it can be accessed using any MySQL client or library from any language. The project is currently in alpha stage, meaning it's still lacking performance in a number of cases but we are working hard on getting a performant system able to process thousands of repositories in a single node. Stay tuned! gitbase was born to ease the analysis of git repositories and their source code. gitin is a minimalist tool that lets you explore a git repository from the command line. You can search from commits, inspect individual files and changes in the commits. It is an alternative and interactive way to explore the commit history. Also, you can explore your current state by investigating diffs, stage your changes and commit them. Fuzzy search (type / to start a search after running gitin command. Interactive stage and see the diff of files (gitin status then press enter to see diff or space to stage). Commit/amend changes (gitin status then press c to commit or m to amend). Interactive hunk staging (gitin status then press p). Explore branches with useful filter options (e.g. gitin branch press enter to checkout). Convenient UX and minimalist design. This will download all .gitignore files in ~/joe-data/ folder. Download the latest binary from the Releases page. It's the easiest way to get started with joe. Make sure to add the location of the binary to your $PATH. You can also use joe to append to a global .gitignore. These can be helpful when you want to ignore files generated by an IDE, OS, or otherwise. Joe isn't just a generator for .gitignore files. You can use it and its output wherever a SCM is used.
