This is larry wong from EMC, I am writing this mail to you as we are now investigating on the OpenSIS tools and plan to deploy this in Lab, May I know are there any workload tool for this APP? Or do we need to write scripts by our own?

Hi,
I am trying to run the installation of opensis for the first time
After the installation of XAMMP and unpacking the opensis zip file to
htdocs in xammp
i went to the link http://localhost/opensis, it brought up the installation
window but with some errors as shown below;

What is the Best way to configure a school that have different periods in different days. For an example: Science is teaching in the following periods

 

Monday: period 2

Wednesday: Period 4

Friday: Period 4 and 5

 

What is the best way to configure this?

This is my suggestion as an OpenSIS user.
I don't think such a functionality is available in opensis. What you can do is a workaround. 
Create one period-course schedule for a particular course. for all other schedules you configure for that course, set this first course-period schedule as the parent. set all child courses as not graded and only the parent course as graded.
period flexibility is available in Focus/SiS i think but that is a paid software.

I AM trying to remove a Period-COurse that i have created, but i have the
following message: " Period cannot be deleted. There are 8 Students
Enrolled"

I went to GROUP DROP and dropped the course from the students but I still
can´t remove the course. What should I do?

This is not even on our radar yet, it would be an extensive rewrite of
the gradebook and many reporting features.

I would create one semester, make it graded with a midterm. This is not
a problem, there may be some issues with the reporting but we would like
to know what they are an to fix them for you.

ideal for our schools.
Here, there is only one term with an exam at the end of the term. Also,
there is a mid-term exam in the middle of the year. how should i set up such
a calendar, i.e., hw many semesters/quarters with what options enabled?

Hi,

I'm trying to install Opensis for an Indian Government school and was trying
a test run. The installation goes fine and I can enter all details/marking
periods etc. but on trying to input grades for a marking period, i'm getting
the following error.
