Great!
So this '.' sign isn't a name. It indicates that the Windows audio devices list couldn't be retrieved by Peace. So that means that at the moment you aren't able to target a specific device and all EQ-ing and effects in Peace are done on all devices on which Equalizer APO is installed. So this could also be an input device like a mic.
So nice to hear that Peace is now running correctly. And also nice that you're able to influence your audio device just as it should. Looking at your Peace log the Peace devices list (at the right) shouldn't have any devices except for the 'All' device. Can you verify this? Perhaps at a new Windows update the issue will resolve itself. At least you're now good to go. And thanks for thinking about and trying the admin thing. Again, it gives us the information that it's some issue related to your PC...
I'm wondering what happens if you start up Peace with administrative rights (right mouse click menu -> Run as administrator).
That's exactly it. And reading it I see something is very off. Peace isn't able to retrieve the audio devices. Probably this is why it crashes. I've never seen it before. To establish this I've added yet some more logging points in this beta version 1.7.0.2. What Windows OS build are you on? I'm currently on 25H2 OS build 26200.8246 .
Still not sure what's going on but I did make more changes to prevent and establish what's going on. Could you add the next line to Peace.ini file? Use Windows Notepad for this. Trace Log=1 By adding the above a log file in your documents folder is created containing all kinds of logging points. After another Peace crash you can attach it to your next post. Usually one checks the 'Trace log' checkbox on the ''Debugging and Testing' tab in the Peace settings but as Peace is crashing all the time you...
Well, that didn't solve it. If your PC has an issue it would be nice if I can pinpoint it by investigating this Peace error code. I'll try to figure it out.
That's a relief to hear that, well accept for the fact that your motherboard isn't playing nice. Good to hear you have pinpoint this issue and found a solution by using the DAC. Now I hope my efforts will resolve the Peace issue. You can download the beta version 1.7.0.0 I created from my Dropbox. Copy it to c:\program files\equalizerapo\config overwriting the existing Peace.exe.
