The procedure is apparently different this year:

1. Go to http://socghop.appspot.com/ and sign in using your Google account
(ok, so this implies a step 0: create a google account....go to any 
google application and create an account)

2. You will then be asked to create a profile: a link id and your real 
name.  The link id is just a unique user name.

3.  There is no step 3 (at least there wasn't for me)
